Truck stolen in Vanderbijlpark found in Randfontein

Two suspects were arrested on R28 near Simunye for allegedly stealing a truck in Vanderbijlpark.

Two suspects were arrested on the R28 near Simunye on Tuesday, 2 March for allegedly stealing a truck in Sebokeng, Vanderbijlpark.

Two other suspects managed to escape.

According to Sergeant Linkie Lefakane, the Bekkersdal Police spokesperson, the suspects aged 34 and 36 were arrested after police received a tip-off of a possible stolen truck travelling on the R28. The truck was being escorted by a white Mitsubishi Colt bakkie.

Members saw the two vehicles fitting the description and flagged them down. However, the two in the passenger seats of both vehicles managed to flee while the two drivers were arrested,” Lefakane said.

She added the duo were expected to appear in the Westonaria Magistrates’ Court after they had been charged with being in possession of a stolen vehicle.
