Residents are to take note that Eskom will be switching off Aureus Munic substation on Saturday, 20 February – several areas to be affected.

This weekend some residents will have to make do without electricity, but not to worry, this will only be for a few hours on Saturday to replace stolen copper earth conductors inside a substation.

According to Mike Mokhetsi, supervisor at Rand West City Local Municipality (RWCLM), residents are to take note that Eskom will be switching off Aureus Munic substation from 8.30am until approximately 3pm on Saturday, 20 February to replace the stolen copper earth conductors.

The following areas will be affected:

• Aureus Ext. 1 (towards Busmark)
• Oasis
• Orion
• All residents from First to Sixth Street, including traffic lights and the main civic centre
• A portion of Westergloor

The RWCLM apologises for the inconvenience.
