Rand West City Covid-19 cases at 5659 to date

The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District as at 11 January is 20 109 with 486 deaths and 17 481 recoveries. There are 202 new cases.

The number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Rand West City has risen to 5 659, according to Gauteng Provincial Government’s latest breakdown of Covid-19 cases. A total of 4 791 people have recovered so far.

The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District as at 11 January is 20 109 with 486 deaths and 17 481 recoveries. There are 202 new cases.

Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 10 641 and 3 803 cases respectively. There are still six unallocated cases in this District as well. Mogale and Merafong have seen 9 320 and 3 364 recoveries respectively.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 17 452 with 15 348 recoveries.

As at 11 January, the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 338 071 with 285 839 recoveries and 6 170 deaths.

Currently, 4 607 people are being treated for the virus in public and private hospitals in the province.
