RCA honours their academic achievers

Randfontein Christian Academy (RCA) ends year with a two-night ceremony to reward all their learners for still showing their commitment, and to honour their top academic achievers.

Randfontein Christian Academy (RCA) learners were honoured for their excellent performance in academics in 2020 during a two-night award ceremony held on Wednesday, 2 and Thursday, 3 December.

Vanessa Dreyer, RCA spokesperson, said all learners were rewarded for still showing their commitment despite the academic year having been interrupted by Covid-19.

If there’s a time to reward our learners it should be this year,” Vanessa said.

However, she said the school had to adhere to Covid-19 safety protocols by minimising the number of guests at the ceremony – hence it was held over two nights.

But, we had fun! One of the highlights was the graduation of the little ones – something quite memorable,” Vanessa said.

She added that leaders for 2021 were also announced at the ceremony.

“For the school it is very important to reward learners for their achievements; more particularly this year, as they had to put in extra effort. We’re extremely proud that we didn’t compromise our curriculum; our learners did all their work,” she said proudly.

Vanessa added despite challenges and limitations brought by the virus, their school strove for excellence, and everything that the learners did was absolutely necessary.

We are looking forward to next year; to start on a new and clean slate. We hope that our learners will come back refreshed in the new year,” Vanessa concluded.
