Social-ills awareness campaign held at Tambotie Mall

The aim was to create awareness regarding social ills in society, which include gender-based violence, rape, missing persons, human trafficking, substance abuse, house as well as business break-ins, and theft.

At least 250 community members were reached and 200 pamphlets distributed during an awareness campaign held at Tambotie Mall last week.

On Friday, 20 November, members of the Randfontein Police’s Crime Prevention Unit, Communication Department and Victim Empowerment together with its Youth Desk, Women As Safety Promoters (WASP) and community patrollers conducted the awareness campaign.

Sergeant Carmen Hendricks, Randfontein Police spokesperson said the aim was to create awareness regarding social ills in society, which include gender-based violence, rape, missing persons, human trafficking, substance abuse, house as well as business break-ins, and theft.

Police also shared some valuable safety tips.
