Residents pray for Rand West City and its people

Kennedy Obzegr Michaels, coordinator of the prayer session, said he was proud that the event was well attended.

Residents of Mohlakeng have called on God during a prayer session on Saturday, 31 October to help Rand West City get over many of its ills.

Members of various churches and communities came out in numbers; braving the scorching sun to pray for the resolution of gender-based violence, the end of the Covid-19 pandemic, accidents, drug and substance abuse, killings and human trafficking.

Kennedy Obzegr Michaels, coordinator of the prayer session, said he was proud that the event was well attended.

“It is clear that we as the people all have the desire to live in peace and harmony. Life was tough even before the pandemic, then came lockdown which affected the livelihoods of many even worse this year.

“We have seen enough and it’s about time that something is done about it. A lot has been happening in Rand West City and unfortunately we have no answers; only God can give us the answers. By holding this prayer meeting, we asked Him to forgive us if we have wronged Him,” Michaels said.

“We are saying to God, please intervene, we need You to show up and help us.”
