WATCH: Local animal saver starts a video competition

Anyone can enter by joining the Friends Of FORA Video Competition Facebook group

A local animal lover, Aimeé Roode is helping FORA (Friends Of Rescued Animals) by hosting a video competition to help find a new home for the 500 animals in their care.

The 14-year-old said after she had to cancel a fundraiser to help the same organisation early this year due to lockdown restrictions, she decided to go virtual.

Aimeé said she hopes to raise money through the video competition so that FORA can move the animals that are in their care to another location.

“The owner of the property in Luipaardsvlei in Krugersdorp they are currently renting has told them they have to move to another premises,” she said.

Explaining how the video competition works, she said anyone can enter by joining the Friends Of FORA Video Competition Facebook group.

Aimeé said although the closing date is 31 October, videos can still be uploaded until 15 November 2020.

“To enter or donate to our cause, join the Friends Of FORA Video Competition Facebook group, and email the proof of payment (R50 per video entry) to vidcomp2020@gmail.com. Then upload your video on the competition Facebook group.

Winners will be contacted and announced by 15th December 2020.
