Animal lover enters a FORA Video Competition, you can too!

'Animals don't have a voice, so you'll never stop hearing mine'

AimeƩ Roode who is on a mission to improve animal welfare has entered the video competition hosted by Friends of Rescued Animals (FORA).

The 14-year-old who has always had a soft spot for animals plans to become a veterinarian one day. By entering the competition, she is hoping to make a difference.

“I started volunteering at FORA when I was 13 because I love animals. I’ve always wanted to help rescue them,” AimeĆ© said.

When I went to FORA for the first time I saw that they didn’t just give the animals food and shelter, but they gave them love.

“I also want to raise awareness about FORA and what they do. I want people to know that a rescued animal can be the most loyal and loving animal there is. Animals don’t have a voice, so you’ll never stop hearing mine,” she said.

AimeƩ Roode said she wants to contribute to the welfare of animals. Photo submitted.

She urged the public to help her promote the video competition to raise funds for FORA.

“First you join the FORAĀ FacebookĀ group and post a video of between 30 and 90 seconds of your pet on theĀ FacebookĀ group. There are various categories to enter, namely Rescued Animal (most improved); Cutest pet; Funniest video; Best bond; and Best trained pet,” AimeĆ© explained. She added that people can vote for her by liking the videos onĀ Facebook.

AimeĆ© added, “I hope to raise awareness about animals in need and animal abuse, promote adoption of abandoned and rescued animals, and show people how loving and loyal these animals are. Anything you could do to help will be greatly appreciated.”

Entries for the competition close on 31 October 2020.
