Rand West City now has 3 250 confirmed cases of Covid-19 with 2 798 recoveries

The West Rand District had 27 new cases of Covid-19 since the last report

As at 12 August, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Rand West City stood at 3 250, according to Gauteng Provincial Government’s latest breakdown. A total of 2 798 people have recovered so far.

Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 6 531 and 2 675 cases respectively. There are 91 unallocated cases in this District as well. Mogale City and Merafong City have seen 5 301 and 2 320 recoveries respectively.

The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District as 12 August is 12 547, with 208 deaths and 10 419 recoveries. There are 27 new cases.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 10 324, with 8 347 recoveries.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 194 685, with 150 082 recoveries and 2 761 deaths.

A total number of 4 091 people are currently hospitalised in public and private facilities in the province.
