Covid-19 cases in Rand West City stands at 3 101

The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District as 5 August is 12 028, with 186 deaths and 9 272 recoveries. There are 126 new cases.

As at 5 August, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Rand West City stood at 3 101, according to Gauteng Provincial Government’s latest breakdown. A total of 2 466 people have recovered so far.

Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 6 263 and 2 573 cases respectively. There are 91 unallocated cases in this District as well. Mogale City and Merafong City have seen 4 705 and 2 101 recoveries respectively.

The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District as 5 August is 12 028, with 186 deaths and 9 272 recoveries. There are 126 new cases.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 9 979, with 7 461 recoveries.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 185 282, with 129 375 recoveries and 2 313 deaths.

A total number of 4 624 people are currently hospitalised in public and private facilities in the province.
