Rand West City now has 2 811 confirmed cases of Covid-19
The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District as 29 July is 11 059, with 156 deaths and 7 596 recoveries. There are 218 new cases.
As at 29 July, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Rand West City stood at 2 811, according to Gauteng Provincial Government’s latest breakdown. A total of 2 007 people have recovered so far.
Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 5 780 and 2 377 cases respectively. There are 91 unallocated cases in this District as well. Mogale City and Merafong City have seen 3 831 and 1 758 recoveries respectively.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 9 296, with 6 136 recoveries.
The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 168 369, with 106 360 recoveries and 1 836 deaths.
A total number of 5 476 people are currently hospitalised in public and private facilities in the province.
