Rand West City now has 1 161 confirmed cases of Covid-19 as the West Rand passes the 5 000 mark

The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District as 9 July is 5 266, with 52 deaths and 1 412 recoveries. There are 439 new cases.

As at 9 July, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Rand West City stood at 1 161, according to Gauteng Provincial Government’s latest breakdown. A total of 305 people have recovered so far.

Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 2 825 and 1 186 cases respectively. There are 94 unallocated cases in this District as well. Mogale City and Merafong City have seen 572 and 535 recoveries respectively.

The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District as 9 July is 5 266, with 52 deaths and 1 412 recoveries. There are 439 new cases.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 4 806, with 1 860 recoveries.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 81 546, with 26 438 recoveries and 515 deaths.

Currently, 3 006 people are being treated for the virus in public and private hospitals in the province.
