Covid-19: Rand West City nears the 1 000 mark; three new deaths in District
The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District as 6 July is 4 286, with 39 deaths and 971 recoveries.
As at 6 July, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Rand West City stood at 926, according to Gauteng Provincial Government’s latest breakdown. A total of 213 people have recovered so far.

Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 2 274 and 993 cases respectively. There are 93 unallocated cases in this District as well. Mogale City and Merafong City have seen 344 and 414 recoveries respectively. The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District as 6 July is 4 286, with 39 deaths and 971 recoveries. There are 338 new cases.
In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 3 976, with 1 265 recoveries.
The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 66 891, with 19 779 recoveries and 403 deaths. Currently 2 553 people are being treated for the virus in public and private hospitals in the province.
