EPR reports 13 incidents of crime during weekend: Domestic violence, theft included

Security company reveals an increase in crime as we head into the final week of Level 4 lockdown.

EPR Security released its crime report for the weekend from Friday, 22 May to Sunday, 24 May.

According to Johan Krogh, General Manager of EPR West Rand, 13 crime incidents were reported across Rand West City during this period

This is an increase in crime compared to the previous weekend,” Krogh said.

He added that in Randfontein alone there were at least six incidents, among them damage to property, assault, domestic violence, robbery and attempted robbery. In the plot areas there were four incidents of theft.

Further out of town in Waterpan was an incident of attempted theft, and another of damage to property in Bekkersdal. A theft was reported in Westonaria.

“It is clear that crime is still rife. We also noticed that robberies are beginning to increase; therefore, we urge our customers to remain vigilant,” Krogh concluded.
