Mapogo’s latest crime report: Several business break-ins a concern

Mapogo A Mathamaga Security paints concerning picture of businesses being targeted in the first 11 days of May.

Mapogo A Mathamaga Security on the West Rand released its crime report for the period of Friday, 1 May to Monday, 11 May.

Herman Coetzee, Operations Manager at Mapogo warned that, “Criminal activity has not stopped or gone to rest since the lockdown”.

He said the crime report for their client base revealed there were six incidents of business break-ins, namely two in Aureus, one in Greenhills and Eikepark respectively, as well as another two incidents in Westonaria.

In addition, Herman added, there was an incident of common theft as well as indecent assault in Westonaria.

We urge our clients to please remain extra vigilant. The current modus operandi is for suspects to break through the roof of a business.

“We plead with business owners to respond to urgent alarm notification calls, and come and open the business once notified of an incident so that reaction officers can conduct proper property inspections,” he said.
