Methodist Church welcomes new ministers

The Methodist church recently welcomed three new ministers to their Mogale circuit.

The Methodist Church recently welcomed three new ministers to their Mogale circuit. They are ministers Raymond Keet and Phumzile Tafane, and superintendent minister Philisande Didiza.

The three ministers were welcomed into the church late last year and inducted into their positions early in January.

Minister Phumzile was raised in Soweto and said she got the call from God in 2002 before being accepted into the ministry in 2003. She then served in Schweizer-Reneke in the North West before being ordained in 2008.

This is not her first time in Mogale City, and said she is glad to be back. She oversees churches in Munsieville, Magaliesburg, Hartbeeshoek, Tarlton, Molato, Matupe and Doringhoek.

Minister Raymond grew up in KwaZulu-Natal and said he got a divine call before going into the ministry full time in 2008. He has ministered at Diepsloot, Seth Mokitimi, Carletonville, Pretoria and Bedfordview, and was ordained in 2013.

He will be overseeing churches in Noordheuwel, Princess and Krugersdorp.

Superintendent minister Philisande is originally from Heald Town in the Eastern Cape. He explained that he was raised in Methodism by his grandmother and his journey to the ministry started in 1999 when he moved to East London.

He decided to first get his degree in Theology and was accepted into the ministry in 2009. Over the years he has ministered all over, even in Mogale City for a year, but always returned to Cape Town. He believes he is not new to Mogale City and its people.

He will be overseeing the churches in Kagiso Extension 12, Kagiso main, Lewisham and the Princess village.

He explained that although each of their churches has different projects, at the moment they all have one goal and that is to bring the gospel to the people. He said they plan on spending the first year just assisting and learning from the projects already implemented before increasing and extending the church’s projects.

“We have come to bring God’s love to the people,” minister Philisande said.

He went on to say that they are very excited for the future because they have a very diverse circuit that believes in transformation.
