Business as usual for RPA, but from home …

RPA advises local entrepreneurs who do have trouble keeping afloat to consider the Debt Relief Scheme from government.

Management of the Randfontein Publicity Association (RPA) said it is business as usual during lockdown as staff members are set up to work from home.

“The RPA staff have so far spent the lockdown time wrapping up the 2020 Randfontein Show,” said Marcelle Mans, managing director of RPA and Show coordinator.

Among the tasks they still need to do are to reconcile various income sources, and prepare feedback reports on the 2020 Randfontein Show.

“Feedback from Show committee members helps us identify weak points and problem areas. This is valuable as we are always looking to improve,” Marcelle added.

She added that each and every staff member has set up their office equipment at home, and they are communicating constantly via WhatsApp and email.

“Working from home is not really a problem. We can do most of our work from home.”

However, Marcelle said lockdown will have a negative impact on businesses, especially small ones.

Joy Hamman, RPA’s publicity officer said fewer business will be able to renew their business annual membership.

“In the meantime we will do everything within our means to help them promote their businesses,” Joy said.

She also recommended that local entrepreneurs who do have trouble keeping afloat consider the Debt Relief Scheme from government.

“People can visit https://www.dsbd.gov.za/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/SMME-Debt-Relief-Scheme-1.pdf to find out if they can apply for assistance,” Joy added.
