Randfontein Golf Club closed until 2021, but not due to Covid-19

Randfontein Golf Club will be closed as of yesterday (1 April) until 31 January 2021.

“We would like to inform everyone that management of the Golf and Country Club has regrettably and reluctantly decided to shut down its golfing side of the operations,” said Bizzah Matsobane, owner of the Randfontein Golf Club.

“The shutdown has been precipitated by the recent weather conditions which affected the greens, fairways and the rough,” Matsobane said.

He added that these conditions had a negative effect on the golfers and the membership consequently dwindled.

“During this period of closure, the golf course will be revamped, reconstructed, redeveloped and re-positioned; but the events, restaurant and catering service section will continue,” he added.

Matsobane added that management wishes to appeal to their members, golfers, community and other stakeholders to bear with them during these difficult times and apologise for the inconvenience that the situation will cause to all.
