Sharlene Baatjes, the Foundation Phase teacher at the school, said Rania started by competing at school level in June this year and managed to proceed to Gauteng District level with 1 400 schools taking part.

She said Rania represented the Gauteng West District 2 in October at provincial level, when 13 learners from Gauteng represented the district.

“Toekomsrus Primary School’s staff is very proud of her and wishes her well for the future,” Sharlene said.

Rania’s proud mother, Anna Morgan said: “I have always known that she was good at Maths, as every year she would get up to 90 per cent. However, this year was quite a surprise.

“Rania is a hardworking, dedicated child who doesn’t delay getting her work done!” the proud mother said.
