R’fontein SuperSpar to reach out to the elderly

Randfontein SuperSpar to donate food parcels to the elderly who depend on SASSA grants on 1 November.

Randfontein SuperSpar will donate food parcels to the elderly who depend on their SASSA grants.

The handover will be done at the supermarket on Friday, 1 November.

According to Safura Dawood, the co-owner of Randfontein SuperSpar, this is a bid to help minimise poverty.

“The current economic situation in South Africa has resulted in many households being supported by the elderly through the SASSA grant. We are reminded of this on a monthly basis and it is truly heartbreaking to witness the effects of poverty. We believe that every citizen can do something to better the lives of those who are impoverished,” he said.
