R28 million has been allocated to complete Phase 2 of the Greenhills Wastewater Treatment Works project.
According to Peter Dick, a councillor in the area, this was confirmed by the Rand West City Local Municipality during a recent meeting.
Dumile Sithole, the former stand-in Executive Mayor, said, “The tender process to appoint a new contractor to continue with Phase 2 of the refurbishment of the Greenhills Wastewater Treatment Works is at an advanced stage, and the contractor will be appointed soon.”
Dick added that the project was raised in council as the public had the right to know of the developments.
We simply wanted the public to know that the upgrade is going to happen,” Dick added.
