#MandelaDay: Ways to spend your 67 minutes

A few ideas on how South Africans can spend their 67 minutes.

RE/MAX of Southern Africa encourages South Africans to celebrate Mandela Day even if they have not been able to plan something in advance.

Adrian Goslett, Regional Director and CEO of RE/MAX of Southern Africa suggested you spend your 67 minutes by giving back to those within your very own community.

“If you have elderly neighbours, offer them some company by inviting them over for dinner. If parents with small children are living on your street, offer them the night off by babysitting for the evening. Or, walk through your suburb and pick up any rubbish that might be lying around,” Adrian said.

“Whatever you decide to do, the important thing is that you do something. While your contribution by itself might seem small, each action goes towards honouring the legacy of Nelson Mandela and adds up towards making a notable change in our country,” he concluded.

He added, “For those who are unable to spend the 67 minutes doing a volunteer activity, they can still do some good for their fellow man by donating to our RE/MAX Foundation in aid of one of our national beneficiaries, namely the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital, Sporting Chance, and Reach for a Dream. These donations will be dropped off at various shelters for the homeless across the country at the end of July.”
