Get to know a ‘Teiner #116 – Peter Tsietso

The 116th person in the Herald’s Get to know a Randfonteiner project introduces himself.

Meet our Teiner of the week, Peter Tsietso, 35, an animal lover who said he has dedicated his life to making sure that all the animals he comes across are well taken care of.

Born and bred in a village called Madibogo in the North West, Peter came to Randfontein in 2007 to pursue his career as a veterinary nurse.

“I do not know where my deep compassion for these creatures come from, but I always wanted to see them alive and well and at peace, even when I was young,” Peter said.

He said one of the reasons he loves animals is that they always cheer us up.

“Without them life really has no meaning.” From dogs, cats, birds to cows, Peter said he loves them all.

He went on to say that in future, he would like to provide a facility/ home where all animals will be cared for.

“Most of the animals go astray and are lost because they are not properly taken care of. This is something I have seen in rural areas and something I would want to see changed.

“People need to know that animals are part of the ecosystem and we need to love and care for them in peace and harmony,” Peter said.
