27 pistol lights issued to CPF patrollers

Twenty-seven special torches handed over to CPF patrollers.

Twenty-seven pistol lights were handed over to the Randfontein Community Policing Forum’s (CPF) patrollers on Thursday, 6 June at Clan Doyle in Loumarina.

Henry Boyce, the CPF operations coordinator, said these items will be a great help to those who put their lives on the line to protect the community.

Boyce thanked the community for raising the funds to purchase the lights which cost R352 each, but went on to say that most of the equipment they need is expensive and more of the community’s help is needed to cover those costs as well.

“People should remember that our patrollers are risking their lives for the community, and the more equipment we have, the better we can perform our duties. We really need the community to come on board and assist us financially,” Boyce added.

This is one of the pistol lights that were handed over to CPF members.

“If, for instance, members of the community each donated R50 a month, we could use that money for the things that our patrollers need, such as jackets, bullet-proof vests, magnetic signage for their vehicles, fuel for the vehicles, and spotlights,” Boyce said.
