Police, religious group pray crime away

The Bekkersdal Police as well as the Greater Westonaria Interdenominational Women in Prayer joined in prayer against serious crimes plaguing the community.

Bekkersdal Police held a prayer session on the N12 in Zuurbekom against the growing crime wave. The focus on Wednesday, 22 May was on serious crimes including hijackings, rape and robberies which are of concern in the area.

They were joined by the Greater Westonaria Interdenominational Women in Prayer group.

“We need Divine intervention. As the police we are seeking a different resolution to bring down the crime levels,” said Sergeant Linkie Lefakane, Bekkersdal Police spokesperson.
