Two major projects are planned for the West Rand, the first of which will be launched in May.
According to Slaven Gajovic, the Dan Tloome Strategic Mega Project in Wheatlands will essentially be a mega-city, while the West Rand Mega Park called Protea City will be a business hub.
“Communities will benefit from both projects in many ways. Preference is being given to the local community in terms of jobs, businesses, services and material supply,” he said.

Slaven is the chief executive officer (CEO) of Ariobex PTY (Ltd) as well as the CEO and founder of Protea Agri Park PTY (Ltd) and Maximum Group Holdings.
Ariobex is planning to launch the big Dan Tloome Strategic Mega Project in May. It is expected to be finished by 2026. This project will consist of 22 101 residential units, shopping centres and malls, 13 schools, a hospital, churches and libraries, playgrounds, two filling stations, a solar farm, a 40 000-seat soccer stadium and WiFi facilities.
The West Rand Mega Park Mega Project development in Zuurbekom will work in conjunction with the Dan Tloome Mega Project in the upliftment of the West Rand. The project is expected to be launched by Maximum Group Holdings in June and will be finished by 2023.
“West Rand Mega Park will create about 50 000 job opportunities and obviously be a major catalytic project and enabler of future growth in the area,” Slaven said.
He went on to say that the development will provide world-class Agri-Processing and industrial facilities with the latest renewable energies and hi-tech technologies, including blockchain, monitoring and metering, Peer2Peer sales, transport sharing, space sharing, logistics sharing, and Online Produce Trading at an affordable price.
