Petrol price to go up again

We are already having a tough time trying to keep up with current price of petrol.

It seems like motorists are to face some tough times ahead and will have dig deeper into their pockets as the price of petrol is expected to increase on 3 July.

According to the Department of Minerals and Energy, the price of petrol will go up by a whopping 75 cents per litre.

This announcement comes shortly after the recent petrol drop of eight cents a litre which was effective on 5 June and comes with much rejection from residents and motorists in Randfontein.

According to Thabang Vilakazi, this is ridiculous and feels like just another slap in the face to already struggling South Africans.

“We are already having a tough time trying to keep up with current price of petrol.

“While the price of petrol and other necessities keep going up, our salaries really remain stagnant.

“I feel like most of us will be really working towards transport and food and nothing else,” says Vilakazi

Petrol stations across the country are expected to have a backlog of vehicles filling up their petrol tanks on 2 July before the petrol hike becomes effective.
