Check your vehicle before the Easter holidays – Miwa

Please check your vehicle before you hit the road for Easter – Motor Industry Workshop Association appeals to motorists.

The Easter holidays are just days away, which means now is a good time for motorists to have their vehicles checked to ensure safety on the road, said the Motor Industry Workshop Association (Miwa).

Dewald Ranft, chairman of Miwa – a proud associate of the Retail Motor Industry Organisation (RMI) – said despite the long weekend being almost upon us, it’s not too late to have your vehicle checked before hitting the road.

He suggested that motorists make an appointment for a car check at an accredited Miwa workshop as soon as possible.

“The mechanics will do a thorough check of the vehicle. This may include a road test and an assessment of the lights, suspension, drive lines, brakes, tyres (including spare and tools), fluid levels, wipers and windscreen, V Belts and exhaust.”

If a problem is identified, the mechanic will be able to advise the vehicle owner and provide a quote for repairs needed. “No repairs will be done without the consent of the owner,” he explained.

It is so important that vehicles are roadworthy and ready before embarking on a long road trip.

“Many accidents, especially during the Easter weekend, are the result of vehicles not being serviced or maintained. Please, let’s all do our part to reduce the deaths on our roads,” he concluded.
