Rem athlete one of SA’s best
A Grade 5 learner of Randfontein Primary School is among South Africa's Top 10 athletes in the 100m sprint event in his age group.

Sphiwe Kubheka, a Grade 5 learner at Randfontein Primary School is among South Africa’s Top 10 athletes in the 100m sprint event in his age group.
He represented his school, town and province at the National Athletics Championship in Germiston on Friday, 15 and Saturday, 16 March. He also finished third in the 100m sprint at a provincial competition.

Gary Stellenburg, athletics manager and coach at Randfontein Primary School said the focus is now for Siphiwe to practise harder as he has so much potential.
“We at the school decided that we will not stop encouraging Sphiwe to nurture this ability – even in the off-season – because we can see that he has the ability to go really far in athletics,” Gary said.
