Man arrested for illegal firearm

A man in his 30s was found in possession of both an illegal firearm and a quantity of ammunition during a crime prevention operation in Bekkersdal.

Bekkersdal Police have arrested a 35-year-old man for being in possession of an illegal firearm as well as ammunition on Tuesday, 26 February.

Sergeant Linkie Lefakane, Bekkersdal Police spokesperson, said police found both the weapon and ammunition in the man’s possession during a crime prevention operation held in the Holomisa section of Bekkersdal.
