Mayor pumped for this year’s Randfontein Show

An exciting message from our West Rand District mayor just one week before the start of the Randfontein Show!

Like all R’fonteiners, Boyce Maneli, Executive Mayor of the West Rand District Municipality, is counting down the days to this year’s Randfontein Show.

According to him, he loves the Show because it is fun for the whole family and a great opportunity to reconnect with old friends and acquaintances.

“The festive atmosphere is absolutely unique and a visit to the Show is a pure delight and a feast for all your senses. The Show is an outdoor extravaganza that celebrates the South African heritage with a wide variety of entertainment, traditional delicacies and informative exhibitions. It is truly an extraordinary experience to see the spectacular crowds in the Show Marquee Tent during the main events,” Maneli said.

He said he has many fond memories of the Show and added that the event creates a platform for entrepreneurs to trade with their goods and services. According to him, he supports this event because the Randfontein Show attracts interests, investments and promotes the whole region, not just Randfontein.

“I am aware of the work done by the Randfontein Show to host this annual extravaganza in Randfontein that builds social cohesion and attracts investors into the city. It is commendable that the Show creates employment opportunities and that the event showcases the town as well as the West Rand region,” he said.

“I am proudly West Rand and I am honoured to congratulate the Randfontein Publicity Association (RPA) on the upcoming Randfontein Show this year,” he said.

He is also thankful that the community annually supports the Show. He said that he is humbled to applaud Roy Harris, chairperson of the RPA and Marcelle Mans, the Randfontein Show coordinator, for being out-of-the-box-thinkers and excellent organisers that host an extraordinary event every year.

“I am most definitely going to enjoy the Randfontein Show this year. I would particularly like to see the Randfontein Gold Rose that was cultivated in 1989 to celebrate the 60th commemoration of Randfontein’s proclamation as a municipality in 1929,” he added.
