Randfontein Police arrested two suspects in the Randfontein CBD on Tuesday, 5 February for allegedly being involved in a hijacking in neighboring Krugersdorp during December last year.
Constable Carmen Hendricks, the Randfontein Police spokesperson confirmed the arrests were made at about 4.30pm.
“An on-duty police officer and his colleague were on patrol at the corner of Sutherland Avenue and Village Street when the victim approached them, saying that the men who had hijacked him were inside his shop. The victim gave them the case number and the three men were spotted walking along Village Street.

“The police members followed them and managed to arrest two of the suspects. The third suspect ran away and is still at large. The two suspects were detained in the Randfontein cells and will appear in the Randfontein Magistrates’ Court soon,” Hendricks added.
Brigadier Mashole Jacob Manamela, the Randfontein Police station commander, thanked the complainant for helping the police arrest the suspects and applauded the members for their hard work.
