Police raise concern over crime in R’fontein at Tambotie

The police along with other stakeholders held an informative discussion about various serious crimes with the public at Tambotie Mall recently.

Members of the Randfontein Police recently informed the community as well as car guards of the serious crime concerns in Randfontein.

According to Constable Carmen Hendricks, Randfontein Police spokesperson, Portia Mabala, Randfontein Police Social Crime Prevention officer joined hands with the Department of Cooperative Governance (COGTA) and embarked on a crime awareness campaign at Tambotie Mall.

“They addressed crimes such as theft of and out of motor vehicles, house-breakings, human and drug trafficking, substance abuse, and robberies. They also focused on gender-based crimes like sexual offences, gender-based violence, and domestic violence,” she said.

Hendricks said that 200 community members were reached during the campaign and that they handed out 300 informative pamphlets with safety tips.

“They were also interacting with the car park assistants and car guards while promoting safety,” Hendricks added.
