The first ever Randfontein Festive Fever music festival was a big hit.

Music was blasting, drinks were flowing and bodies were dancing during the Randfontein Festive Fever music festival on 1 December.

It’s finally December and it is the perfect time to get festive. The first ever Randfotnein Festive Fever music festival was hosted by Christopher and Melanie Dean from Durban Curry Skybar at Above All Functions. Performances by artists such as Nasty C, Da Capo, Ankle Tap and various local DJs entertained the crowd past midnight.

“This is the first time we have organised a festival like this, but I think it’s just what Randfontein needed,” Christopher said.

There was a beer garden, a kids’ zone with different jumping castles and snacks for children, and enough music to keep the crowd dancing through the night. The gates opened at noon but the real action started at 4.30 pm.

Biblos, the MC, kept the crowds entertained in between performances by Busiswa, Pahorisa, Sketchy Bongo, DJ Black Uzzie and DJ Grizzly. Pro-Tee and the West Side FM DJs were also a big hit.

People came from all over the West Rand to enjoy the local music. The organisers received a lot of positive feedback from the community.

“It turned out better than expected, especially since it was the first time that we have done something like this, but it helped that we found the perfect venue. We are planning to host events like these annually,” Melanie said. “Next year it will be bigger and even better, so music lovers can already look forward to the next one.”
