It’s Throwback Thursday and the Herald went back in time to 28 November 1986, when the front page story was headlined Celesté weer mooiste roos.

Celesté Roos, a 17-year-old learner from Randfontein High School (RHS) who was crowned Miss High School and Miss Randfontein first princess in 1985, won the title of Miss Randfontein in 1986.

The Herald reported that she won a weekend for two at Mountjoy Holiday Lodge at St Michaelis On Sea, a six-month make-up course from Melandi Model School worth R150, a designer dress from Anique Boutique worth R150, a R150 Edgars voucher, a Avroy Shlain hamper, a string of freshwater pearls from La Gold and a dinner for two at Randfontein’s Pizza House.
