Randfontein Police find 32 bags of drugs in Aureus home.

A man was arrested for allegedly dealing in drugs after police members found 32 bags of drugs in his home in Aureus.

According to Constable Carmen Hendricks, Randfontein Police spokesperson, the suspect was arrested on 20 November in Oasis Manor in Aureus, Randfontein.

“It was alleged that the Randfontein Sector Commander had a meeting with the community of Oasis Manor on 13 November. The community members were complaining of a certain house from which they suspected the owner was selling drugs,” she said.

The Randfontein Sector commander together with West Rand K9 Unit members searched the house and found 32 packets of drugs.

“The suspect was arrested and detained at Randfontein cells. He is expected to appear in the Randfontein Magistrates’ Court soon,” Hendricks added.

Brigadier Mashole Jacob Manamela, the Randfontein Police station commander wanted to express his gratitude towards the members. He also thanked the community for reporting the incident to the police.

“Together we can fight to put these drug-dealers behind bars”, he said.
