MISSING: Two German Shepherd dogs

Family pleads for help to find missing German Shepherd dogs. Can you help find them?

A family is appealing to the West Rand public for help in finding their two beloved German Shepherd dogs, Caesar and Shadow.

Although they live on Hartbeeshoek Road (otherwise known as the Telkom / Hartrao / Sansa satellite station road) near the Cradle of Humankind, their owner, Sharon Taylor, thinks the dogs may have made their way to the West Rand and is calling on the public for help.

“We are very happy to offer a reward for the safe return of our dogs,” Sharon said.

Missing female German Shepherd, named Shadow.

She added, “They were last seen in our garden on Friday morning, 19 October. We can only think that they spotted a baboon or warthog, which occasionally pass our garden fence and gave chase onto a neighbouring farm. We have searched the neighbouring farms by foot, quad bike and vehicle for hundreds of kilometres but have found nothing, not even a paw print.

“We are totally devastated. Caesar and Shadow are family dogs, sleeping in our bedrooms at night. They belong to our daughters, Savannah and Tamaryn – the four of them do everything together. If they go for a walk on the farm, the dogs go with, if they have sleep-outs in the garden with their friends, the dogs sleep right next to them. They are part of the family and we are all lost and devastated without them.”

Taylor also gave a distinctive description of both dogs.

“Caesar is a male and 7 years old. He is black and tan in colour. He is tall and slender in build. He has a solid head with a longish nose. He has a limp from a previous joint operation – especially when he has been running. He is a gentle soul but will bark at people he is unsure of and is protective of Shadow. He is a proud boy who loves children!

“Shadow is a female and just turned 6 years old. She is also black and tan in colour. She is a large and solid girl. She has a beautiful dark face with light brown eyes. She is a very friendly and gentle girl with the temperament of a Labrador. She puts her ears down when she’s feeling unsure.”
