A 33-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly raping a 15-year old girl at a guest house in Westonaria on Saturday, 6 October.
According to Warrant Officer Raymond Sebonyane, Westonaria Police spokesperson, the suspect used alcohol to entice her.
“It has been alleged that the victim met the suspect while on her way home and asked him for a lift as the suspect is known to her.
It is alleged that the suspect drove around with the victim and bought her drinks. He then drove her to one of the guest houses in Westonaria where he allegedly raped her,” Sebonyane said.
Sebonyane added that a rape case has been opened and the suspect was arrested on Monday, 8 October.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Westonaria Magistrates’ Court soon.
