A decomposed body with only skeletal remains was found in Groot Elandsvlei recently.
The Randfontein Police responded to a complaint in the area on 12 September where they were informed that skeletal remains were found.
According to Captain Appel Ernst, Randfontein Police spokesperson, the members were taken to an area next to a stream where a farm worker had discovered the remains.
“The body was completely decomposed and only skeletal bones were found. The investigators on the scene also found overall trousers with reflector stripes,” Ernst said.

The race and gender of the deceased are unknown.
“It is believed that the person had died quite some time ago, as there was total decomposition,” she added.
Ernst said that the investigating officer, Warrant Officer Lindie Breytenbach would appreciate any assistance in establishing the identity of the deceased. Residents who reported missing persons in the past are specifically requested to contact her on 011 2788100.
