Cupcakes for children with cancer

Randfontein Christian Academy (RCA) is part of South Africa's 7th National Cupcake Day 4 Kids with Cancer initiative. Are you?

Randfontein Christian Academy (RCA) has taken the initiative to buy cupcakes from Mugg & Bean for all its learners to support children with cancer.

“The school sponsored a cupcake for each and every child and staff member on Monday, 3 September,” said Vanessa Dreyer, spokesperson of the school.

She added this was an opportunity for the school to do something for a good cause, help those in need and be part of a national initiative.

Cupcakes of HOPE will be hosting South Africa’s 7th National Cupcake Day 4 Kids with Cancer on 29 September. This event is a community-driven project where Cupcake Angels ‘bake’ a difference in the lives of children with cancer.

“We immediately jumped at the opportunity to be involved with this effort. We as a school then decided to bless each of the staff members and learners with a muffin. The Lord blesses our school in abundance every day that we decided it is time to give back,” Vanessa added.

To take part in National Cupcake Day, visit www.cupcakesofhope.org to find your nearest participating mall. Then contact the mall coordinator to make your pledge of 24 or 48 cupcakes. The public can support the cause on the day by making a R10 donation for a delicious cupcake. Mugg & Bean is supporting this inspiring initiative by donating proceeds from the sales of their giant muffins towards Cupcakes of Hope for #cupcakes4kidswithcancer.
