Rand West City to celebrate Women’s Month by showcasing Women in Music.

The Rand West City Local Municipality, in partnership with Ms Jones Sounds will host the Women in Music Festival at the Ace Ntsoeleng Stadium in Mohlakeng on Saturday, 25 August to celebrate Women’s Month.

The event starts at 12 noon and continues until late.

“This charitable event aims to celebrate and salute all women who are making iconic moves in any industry across all walks of life,” said Lerato Paai, head of Stakeholder Relations and Protocol in the office of the Executive Mayor.

Lerato said that the event will create a big social lifestyle movement for the people of Rand West as a whole, and will also attract people from outside the region through sheer enjoyment and music. She said the experience is also dedicated to our City’s residents by having them engage and participate in an event that will enhance and strengthen relationships and networks and connect the residents of the West Rand with the rest of the world.

“This music festival will be a first of its kind in terms of an All Star Women in Music Line-Up and Production, from the DJs to performing artists as well as the MCs and the behind the scenes crew. “Furthermore, proceeds from this event will be used to buy toiletries and sanitary towels for girl learners from disadvantaged families in Rand West City,” Lerato said.

She said the event will be of the highest quality and will include the founder of Ms Jones Sounds, DJ Ms Jones, the municipality and national artists and DJs.
