New hope for the unemployed

The Hope Foundation Project, which is part of Ekklesia Equipping

Ministries (EEM), has launched a new

Job Seekers Project.

Their aim is to help break the cycle of poverty in the community, and close the gap between job seekers and employers.

According to Barend Kotze, the founder and Senior Pastor at EEM, they are joining hands with 153 Ministries in Elandsvlei.

“Our primary focus and goal through the Hope Foundation Project are simply to help as many people as we possibly can by extending a hand of hope to alleviate human suffering and help people grow,” he said.

“We want to provide the love and support that each person needs. Most poor people are desperate. We want to help them earn an income to provide for and support their families.” Barend said that they are trying to reduce the cycle of poverty and unemployment in these communities by giving ‘a hand up and not a handout’.

“We give the people dignity and their self-esteem is being restored because they will have a self-supporting income,” Barend continued. They have regular workshops where they teach the unemployed skills such as woodwork and sewing.

“The goal of the Job Seekers Project is to help unemployed people in South Africa to find a full- or part-time job. All they need to do is send us their detailed CV. We will upload it and share it on numerous platforms. This service is free of charge,” Barend said.

CVs can be sent to info@eqm.co.za.

Barend said that unemployed women in the community can look forward to their next free sewing workshop. The Loslappie Workshop will take place at 189 Ventersdorp Road, Elandsvlei on 14 September from 9am to 1pm. They also have regular events for the public. The Dream Seminar will take place on 8 and 9 September and the Ladies Tea will be on 25 August. Both events will be at 153 Ministries in Elandsvlei. They are also heading to Lesotho as part of an outreach project from 29 September to 5 October.

Please note that these events are not free of charge. For more information, call 060 963 4268.
