Trio (one armed) arrested for Greenhills burglary

Great partnership policing between CPF, EPR Security and police led to the arrest of three alleged burglars in Greenhills recently.

Three suspects aged 21, 33 and 35 were quickly arrested after a burglary on Nightingale Street, Greenhills, on Friday, 29 June.

Residents alerted the response officers of a security company to a suspicious blue vehicle spotted in the area. Police said the EPR reaction officers responded to an alarm on a property immediately.

“The reaction officers and members of the CPF immediately started fine-combing the area,” said Captain Appel Ernst, the Randfontein Police spokesperson. She added that the suspicious vehicle carrying three suspects was cornered shortly afterwards, and the suspects were arrested immediately.

“Two large screen televisions and a firearm were found in the suspects’ possession,” Ernst said.

Colonel Rand Makgatho, acting Randfontein Police station commander, applauded all the parties involved in this successful arrest.

“We are grateful that partnership policing is producing results. Thank you to everyone,” said the colonel.
