Three wanted for rape

Police seek three men wanted for questioning in rape case.

Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) of the Carletonville Police has released three identity kits of suspects in a rape case.

On 29 April at about 4am, the 20-year-old victim was walking home when she was allegedly accosted by the three suspects.

“The first suspect allegedly wanted to speak to her and when she refused, he became aggressive. One of them pointed a knife at her and instructed her to undress. They then pushed her to the ground and took turns to rape her,” said Sergeant Linki Lefakane, Bekkersdal Police spokesperson.

The matter was later reported to the Bekkersdal Police, where the victim was able to identify the suspects by means of an ID kit. The first suspect is possibly between 24 and 30 years old, 1,7 metres tall, of slender build with a dark complexion.

The second suspect is about 24 years old, 1,6 metres tall, of slender build and has a coffee-like complexion. The third suspect is about 20 years old, 1,6 metres tall, of slender build and has a light complexion.

Anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of these perpetrators is requested to contact the investigating officer, Constable Lucia Montwedi on 082 778 9048. Alternatively contact the Bekkersdal Police on 011 755 0000/ 5/ 6 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
