Drug dealer arrested in Randfotnein after police followed up on tip-off.

A suspected drug dealer was arrested in his Simunye home after police found drugs hidden there.

According to a statement released by Sergeant Linkie Lefakane, Bekkersdal Police spokesperson, “A 30-year-old man appeared before the Westonaria Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 8 May on charges of being in possession of drugs.

“He was arrested by the Bekkersdal Intervention Unit following a tip-off at about 9pm on Sunday, 6 May. It is alleged that Constable Maditaba Ngakane was working on an intelligence-driven operation involving a man dealing in drugs at a house in Simunye.

“She followed up on the information, which resulted in the discovery of pills suspected to be drugs and the arrest of the perpetrator.”

Colonel Tinus Swart, the Bekkersdal Police station commander, applauded the members for a job well done and thanked the community for the information they gave to the police.

“We must continue identifying the perpetrators of crime to the police as they are not killing only our kids but the nation too,” he added.
