What not to miss in sport this long weekend!

Here's what's happening in the sporting world this long weekend.

The Herald has compiled a list of some of the must-see sporting events that will be screened on television from Friday, 27 April to Tuesday, 1 May.

FRIDAY, 27 APRIL

Rugby:

• Get your long weekend started with Round 11 of the Super Rugby down under in New Zealand, where the always impressive Hurricanes face bottom of the log Sunwolves at 9.30am. Then tune in at 3pm as the struggling Stormers look to bounce back to their old winning ways in their clash against the Rebels in Cape Town. Also catch Round 21 of the Aviva Premiership between English sides Leicester Tigers and Newcastle Falcons at 8.40pm.

Cricket:

• The Indian Premier League (IPL) continues at 4.15pm, with the Delhi Daredevils taking on the Kolkata Knight Riders, followed by the Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Daredevils at 4.15pm.

And, if you are looking for something different, catch the following …

• Stage 3 of the Tour de Romandie (Cycling) from 4pm

• Day 1 of the FINA Diving World Series Montreal (Diving) from 6pm

• Men and women’s final of the PSA World Tour El Gouna International (Squash) from 7pm

• Quarterfinals of the ATP World Tour 500 Barcelona Open (Tennis) from 12.30 noon

SATURDAY, 28 APRIL

Rugby:

• Tune in as early as 4.50am for Round 8 of the World Rugby HSBC Sevens Series in Singapore. The Blitzboks are in action against Samoa at 6am, Canada at 9.30am and Argentina at about 1pm. Round 11 of the Super Rugby tournament will continue from 7am, with a clash between Australia’s Reds and SA’s high-flying Lions, followed by the Blues and Jaguares at 9.30am, the Brumbies and Crusaders at 11.40pm and finally the impressive Bulls against the always competitive Highlanders at 5pm. Other rugby action not to miss is an all South African Guiness PRO14 clash between the Southern Kings and Cheetahs at 2.55pm.

Football:

• Catch both semifinals of the MultiChoice Diski Shield from 9.55am and 11.55am respectively. South African sides to go head-to-head in the Absa Premiership are Mamelodi Sundowns vs Ajax Cape Town; Cape Town City vs Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs vs Maritzburg United, all from 2.55pm. Also catch some LaLiga as well as Premier League action from Spain and England respectively from 12 noon.

Motorsport:

• Adrenaline junkies can look forward to the qualifying round of the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix from 2.55pm as well as the Nascar Xfinity Series from 9pm.

SUNDAY, 29 APRIL

Rugby:

• The knockout round of the World Rugby HSBC Sevens Series in Singapore starts early, at 4.50am. Other rugby action not to miss is at 12.25pm between Bordeaux-Bègles and Racing 92 in the TOP14 followed by an Aviva Premiership clash between London Irish and Saracens at 3.55pm.

Cricket:

• Two clashes are lined up in the Indian Premier League T20 for Sunday as Rajasthan Royals face Sunrisers Hyderabad first at 12.15pm followed by Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders at 4.15pm.

Football:

• National First Division (NFD) clash between Highlands Park and Black Leopards at 2.55pm.

If you are looking for something different, catch the following …

• 33rd edition of the Hamburg Marathon (Road Running) from 9.15am

• Main race of the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix (Motorsport) at 2pm

• Final of the ATP World Tour 500 Barcelona Open (Tennis) from 4pm

MONDAY, 30 APRIL

Rugby:

• Get up early, as the Super Schools Rugby tournament starts at 7.45am. A clash not to miss is at 2.55pm between the only representative from the West Rand, i.e., Hoërskool Monument against Grey College.

TUESDAY, 1 MAY

Football:

• The second leg of the UEFA Champions League semifinal between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich is not to be missed at 8.40pm.

And, if you are looking for something different, catch the following …

• Episode 1301 of WWE Raw® (Wrestling) from as early as 2am

• 57th edition of the Eschborn-Frankfurt Classic (Cycling) from 12 noon
