R’fontein woman held abroad for drugs

Daughter stranded in Brazil for more than a month after allegedly being caught with drugs.

A woman from Mohlakeng was arrested during a drug bust in February this year, and is being held for alleged drug possession in São Paulo, Brazil.

Brigadier Jacob Manamela, the Randfontein station commander, confirmed that the matter is currently under investigation by Interpol.

“According to the Interpol information, she was arrested for being in possession of drugs,” he said, adding that the matter is still an allegation.

A second woman has also allegedly been arrested in Brazil.
