Woman dies in hospital after car crash

Paramedics said the deceased, who is believed to be 22 years old, had vital signs that showed she was critically injured.

A woman died in hospital after sustaining critical injuries in a car accident in Fochville on the far West Rand over the weekend.

Seven people were injured on Sunday 5 March when two light motor vehicles collided on the R500 in Fochville. Emergency services on the scene found one of the vehicles in the middle of the road, while the second vehicle was found approximately 100 metres away in the veld.

Paramedics said the deceased, who is believed to be 22 years old, had vital signs that showed she was critically injured.

“CPR and advanced life support were initiated. She was rushed to hospital where she succumbed to her injuries,” said Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesperson.

Meiring said other victims were transported to various hospitals for further treatment. Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
