Randfontein Primary School inducted the Executive Committee of its Representative Council of Learners (RCL) on Tuesday, 6 February.
This event is held every year, with the parents of the Executive Committee being contacted beforehand, but the learners do not know when it will be held.
On the day, in the opening in the school hall, all the RCL members are asked to sit on the stage, where each position gets announced. The learners’ parents then help their children into their new blazers, and afterwards, the whole RCL takes a vow, which they sign with the school principal.
The following learners were elected to the RCL Executive Committee:
Head Boy – Lebogang Salagae, Head Girl – Omphile Moerane, Deputy Head Boy – Cuan Oosthuizen, and Deputy Head Girl – Jenique Kiewitz. The secretary is Lethokuhle Mosina; the treasurer is Letso Tselaesele; Zusiphe Venkile heads the academic portfolio; Llewelyn Aapies heads the sports portfolio; Rirhandzu Nkosi heads the culture portfolio, and Ashleigh Stone takes on the learner affairs portfolio.
