Reading books – How many residents still read books? Here is why it is so important to read, young and old.

Reading relaxes you and gives you incomparable pleasure, but unfortunately, it is a hobby that is on the decline. The reason for this is because of the advanced technology we experience everyday.

Do keep these following facts in mind before you pack your books in boxes or your cupboard.

Reading gives you knowledge. Books are a rich source of information and reading as much different books on subjects you are interested in, empowers you. Reading also improves your brain, as reading has a strong positive effect on the brain.

By stimulating your brain, you can even prevent Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Similar to solving puzzles, reading books is a great way to exercise your brain and keep it healthy. Reading can also relieve stress, which we all encounter daily.

Very importantly, books give you an imagination. Children must also read and parents should motivate their children to do so from a small age.

Whenever you read a fiction book, it takes you another world, where in the new world, your imagination works best because you imagine in your mind, the characters or places in your mind.

Another very important aspect of reading, is it builds your vocabulary which will benefit you for the rest of your life. Reading a well-written book affects your ability to learn different styles of writing, and if you want to become a writer, you will benefit by reading books of famous authors.
